Fisher Barton Specialty Products (FBSP) utilizes a variety of state-of-the-art optical photomicrography equipment, including metallography, stereo zoom microscopes, SEM microscopes, and laser microscopes to inspect material surfaces. These microscopes create digital photos from the images they display, making inspection and documentation easier and more effective.

Material surface inspection at the microscopic level helps us maintain our high standards of quality for our manufactured components. It can be used to find the right material for a given part and application, to find flaws or imperfections in the material prior to production, for surface modeling of wear surfaces, chemical characterization, failure analysis, finite element analysis, and more.

The information gleaned from our optical photomicrography processes is combined with data from v-notch testing, charpy testing, and other mechanical tests to help FBSP create parts that are stronger, wear better, and last longer.
